  • Lot Code: TB1 4/APRIL/2020, TB2 4/APRIL/2020
  • Product: Heartland Farms Grilled Favorites Beef Chicken & Cheese Flavor
  • Size: 31 lb
  • UPC: 7015514301
  • Lot Code: TA2 4/APRIL/2020, TA3 4/APRIL/2020

No other Heartland Farms Dog Foods are affected by this recall. No illnesses or cases have been reported to date.

Below is some information from the recall announcement.

“While no adverse health effects related to these products have been reported, Sunshine Mills, Inc. has chosen to issue a voluntary recall of these products as a precautionary measure in furtherance of its commitment to the safety and quality of its products,”

What Caused The Recall?

The Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry conducted routine tests of specific samples and found that one lot of the product tested positive for elevated aflatoxin levels.

No illnesses or cases have been reported to date with relation to this recall.

While no adverse cases have been identified, Sunshine Mills, Inc. has decided to issue a voluntary recall of this product to protect the safety and security of pets and their owners.

About Aflatoxin

Pets that have consumed the above-referenced products may exhibit symptoms such as vomiting, yellow-tinted eyes, diarrhea, sluggishness, lethargy, or reluctance to eat.

Should a pet demonstrate such symptoms, they must be seen by a veterinarian immediately.

Sunshine Mills, Inc. has contacted retailers to prevent further sales of the product.

This recall is being conducted by the business, fully cooperating with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

What Do I Do Now?

Consumers who have purchased the above-referenced products should discontinue the use of the product and can return the item to the original place of purchase for a full refund.

This recall is being done with the cooperation of the company to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
